There
was a time not very long ago when Kathy didn’t know she
could paint.
Mostly, she watched
as her husband, his brother and a friend got together every
Sunday to paint and tell stories. She got tired of brewing
their coffee and sitting around listening to them re-tell
the same old stories every week. So she did what she had to
do: got herself an easel, some paints and joined ‘em.
Soon she was
painting circles around the old men. Her inspiration is the
Italian master, Amadeo Modigliani. At first, her paintings
were creative adaptations of his most famous works. Then,
the faces of friends and relatives emerged in her work,
bearing the unmistakable Modigliani feel. All of Kathy’s
portraits carry her own sense of style, color and stroke.
And since she paints with the deft eye of an interior
designer, her color palates seem to magically fit any home
or office décor, be it traditional or contemporary.
